Armed with Weaving skills from her homeland Ilocos Sur,and the techniques learned from her Yakan mother in-law, Angie Pichay -Ilul began her weaving business in Zamboanga City in 1989 with olny 200 pesos as Capita.l Named Angies Yakan Cloth,or AYC the firm started with only 3 weavers (including Angie) with placemats as their first product.
In 2016 I just liked to share my Crafts and how I embraced and loved my work. I started to train 3 PDL's (Persons Deprived of Liberty) in Zamboanga City Jail. My vision and mission at that time was to train pdl's with basics, small ones, that can b sold by piece at very affordable prices for their livelihood. Like any other starters I too had my fair share of mishaps and challenges. But you see, when you have so much passion in your work you always strive for possibilities and possivities and that lead me to officially register JHO BEADS AND CRAFT at DTI and joined my first exhibit ZAMPEX 2017,MANILA FAME and other exhibits and from 3 PDL'S to 40 and counting.
